OPENING PRAYER  (Psalm 8)  (Unison)

Sharon Stewart

Holy One, you have created us with a desire to reach for you. Help us to set down anything that we are holding on to, or even clinging to, that might get in the way of worshipping you with all that we are and all that we hope to be. O Lord, our Lord, we praise your name, and join with all creation to worship you with gladness. Amen.

Seeking the Kingdom of God

Sharing with Kay Richardson’s writing - “I’m only One”.

I’m only one yet I can see.

How nature shows my God to me.

I’m only one but I can hear.

God’s wisdom whispered in my ear.

I’m only one but I can smell.

When fragrant flowers cast their spell.

I’m only one but I can taste,

God’s gentle raindrops on my face.

I’m only one but I can feel.

His love for me is strong and real.

I’m only one but I can say.

God gave His love to give away.

I’m only one but what I’ll do,

I will give my love to you.

I’m only one and yet I know.

The love I share helps love to grow.

I’m only one but now I see.

I shared the love God placed in me.

When my love for you has grown.

It’s on a journey of its own

INVITATION TO OFFERING

(Proverbs 8, Psalm 8)   Bill Foss

Through Holy wisdom, the Lord has made the world as a rich dwelling place, giving us stewardship overt he created order. As God is mindful of us and of our needs, let us now be mindful of our obligation to the needs of others, through our generosity and responsibility for God’s gifts. Give as you are called and as you are able.

BLESSING OF THE OFFERING

(Unison)    Bill Foss

Holy One, you have called us to be good stewards of this

earth and everything in it, including our financial resources. We offer these gifts to you, that they might further the ministry of Jesus. Amen.

BENEDICTION    Bill Foss

In summer, our schedules are sometimes a bit less hectic and pressured. This summer, I encourage you to make the time and space for prayer and worship that you desire. Whether you are at home or traveling, whether you are worshipping here in our community or elsewhere, whether you are at work or at play: May the grace of Jesus assure you that you are forgiven and understood. May the love of God remind you that your life matters. And may the encouragement of the Holy Spirit prompt you to live out your faith in the unique way that only you can. Amen.
