OPENING PRAYER  (from 2 Samuel 6)

Please Read on Your Own to God

As King David and the Israelites danced with joy before the Ark of the Covenant, help us, O God, to worship you with joy and gladness. Send your Holy Spirit to anoint us with your joy, as we praise you, as we hear your word for us in scripture and as we join our hearts in prayer. Nudge us to let down our guard and approach you in joyful and honest delight. In the name of Christ. Amen.

BLESSING THE OFFERING  (Unison)

Everything belongs to you, O God: This earth and all that is in it. This world and all those who live in it. We return to you but a portion of all that you have given to us, to further your kingdom here on earth. Bless these gifts and the generosity of those who have given them. Amen.

BENEDICTION

Go into the rest of your day and the rest of your week, knowing that as human beings, we are anointed with joy. No matter what fills our day, God’s joy is deep within and can make a difference. Dance with joy before the Lord. Dance with the joy that is uniquely yours and no one else’s. Dance, and know that you are not alone. The Spirit of God accompanies you with each step. May the love of God, the grace of our Lord Jesus and the encouraging presence of the Holy Spirit be with you.

Depart in Peace...Shalom
