FUNNY STORY         Pastor Bob

CENTERING WORDS  (Psalm 130)

Out of the depths, we cry to you O God. We seek hope through you in the wake of loss, in the midst of grief. Our souls wait for the Lord like those who wait for the morning.

CALL TO WORSHIP

Debbie Young - Liturgist

If your heart is filled with sadness or fear, you are in the right place. If your heart is filled with joy or contentment, you are in the right place. If your heart is filled with a mix of the struggles and celebrations of life in all its complexity, you are in the right place. We come to worship just as we are, to draw near to the God who can, no matter what we’re feeling, feed us and soothe our soul.

OPENING PRAYER  (Unison)

Debbie Young - Liturgist

Holy God, we come to you with hearts that are full. Full of sadness. Full of fear. Full of joy. Full of wondering. Full of knowing and of not knowing. We offer to you our full hearts and our full lives. We know that you want us to honestly approach you, and so we do, here in this time of worship. We join our voices to praise your name. We join our hearts to draw near to you as a community of faith. Send your Holy Spirit to anoint us with your presence this day. Amen.
