Third Sunday after
We Gather as the Body of Christ
WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
PRAYER OF PREPARATION
O God, I can’t pretend to be anyone I am not. I bring my faith and my doubt to worship. Accept me and guide me, as I learn more about you and who you are calling me to be. Amen.
CALL TO WORSHIP
Jesus told parables to catch people off guard and get them to think differently about long-held traditions, especially about how to understand who God is and how God is present in our world.
The kingdom of God, he told his disciples, is like seed that is scattered upon the ground, then sprouts and grows overnight.
When we hear parables, we are invited to see God and our relationship to God in a new way. Perhaps a way that catches us a little off guard and gets us to think differently about who God is and how God is present in our lives...
Let us worship God, as we join together as the body of Christ.

OPENING PRAYER (unison)
Most holy God, we ask for your presence with us this morning, in ways we can sense, as we seek to listen closely to your work and how it is that we might be faithful to your call. Send your Holy Spirit to anoint each one of us, individually and as a community ...with joy… with gratitude… and with hope. In the name of Jesus ~ Amen.

BLESSING THE OFFERING (unison)
Gracious God you provide for us all that we need. You provide for us in abundance. Help us to reach out to others, through these tithes and offerings, to share a portion of what we have been given. Bless these gifts and bless the hard work and generosity of those who give them. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
HYMN: I’ll Fly Away
The Faith We Sing Hymnal #2282
There are reminders all around us that the kingdom of God is in our midst. Everyday objects and situations can turn our attention to our faith and the difference that our faith can make in the midst of our life.
So, be attentive. Be aware. Be receptive to the lessons that God might want you to learn.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit be with you always. Amen.
DEPART IN PEACE…Have a Great Week
