CENTERING WORDS

In Psalm 46 we hear these words that can center us for worship this day. “Be still, and know that I am God! I am exalted among the nations; I am exalted in the earth.”

CALL TO WORSHIP

Debbie Young - Liturgist

Come, you who are weary from a week’s worth of struggle, a week’s worth of life’s demands and challenges. Come, you who are without hope, as circumstances threaten to overwhelm you. Come, you who are afraid, amidst life’s storms. Come to worship. Come, remember the presence of the living God with us, the God who offers us rest, hope and the courage to do whatever we need to. The God who says, “Peace. Be still.” Come, let us join our hearts, our voices and our prayers. Let us worship God together.

BLESSING THE OFFERING  (unison)

O God, in this time of economic uncertainty and fear, we make a faith statement that we will not be afraid, not as individuals and not as a community of faith. We will trust you and follow your call to be generous. Receive these gifts, that they might allow our congregation to spread the good news of the gospel, through the earth. In the name of Christ, Amen.

BENEDICTION

Trust in God. Offer to God your fear, and your anxiety, about any storminess that life throws your way. And hear the voice of Jesus say to you, “Peace. Be still.” May the grace of Jesus, the love of God and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit be with you and bless you.

Shalom…Depart in Peace.
