2nd Sunday after Pentecost
We Gather as the Body of Christ
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUNNY STORY
CALL TO WORSHIP
Throughout the Gospels, Jesus says the Kingdom of God has come near. He doesn’t say the Kingdom of God will come near, but that it already has, in his lifetime, during his ministry.
What does this mean? What did this mean to the disciples? What does this mean for us? What does it mean that God’s Kingdom, God’s realm, or rule is here? Right now. Among us.
Let us worship with open minds and outstretched hearts.

OPENING PRAYER (unison)
Lord, we come to you for healing…
We come to you for hope…
We come to you for help…in becoming the people that you desire us to be, as we work for your kingdom…
Lord, we come to you, in worship – to pray, to praise, to sing and to immerse ourselves in your word and its message for us…
Lord, we come to you…
only to you…
in this moment…
and always. In the name of Jesus. Amen

BLESSING OF THE OFFERING (unison)

We Are Sent in Ministry to the World
HYMN: “Here I Am, Lord” #593 UMC Hymnal
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Be encouraged, fellow laborers, that together we work, not for anything the world offers, but for the Kingdom of God. This week, may you sense God’s call and claim on your life, directing you to the task that is uniquely yours. May you hear the voice of Jesus, reminding you that what you do matters.
And may you feel the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, in your midst, providing just what you need. Amen.
HYMN: “Let There Be Peace on Earth”
