We Gather as the Body of Christ
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUNNY STORY
CALL TO WORSHIP
Last week, we celebrated Pentecost, when God gave the gift of the Holy Spirit to the newly emerging Christian Church. The Spirit descended like flames of fire, with a rushing wind.
That same Holy Spirit was not just for the crowd gathered on that first Pentecost. The Holy Spirit has encouraged and comforted Christians throughout history and continues to encourage and comfort us today.
Let us worship God, whose Spirit is with us as individuals and with us as we gather together as a community of faith.
HYMN: “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty”

OPENING PRAYER (unison)
In the beginning, O God, you created the heavens and the earth. From the beginning, through all time, you have continued to create and to care for your creation. Create in us, O God, hearts that are open to hear your word for us this day. Create, within our community, a willingness to seek you, and your truth, in Jesus Christ, as we worship you today. Amen
