The Candle of HOPE

Reflection

We light this candle as a symbol of Christ our Hope. May the light sent from God shine in the darkness to show us the way of salvation. O Come, O Come Emmanuel.

Advent Prayer (Unison)

God of Hope open our eyes to the gift of wonder this season and help us to limit those things that distract us so that we might focus on you. Come, Lord Jesus. My Hope is in you. Amen.

INVITATION TO OFFERING  (Psalm 25)

Those who keep God’s covenant and decrees walk in the paths of steadfast love and faithfulness. It is right to share our blessings in a world where justice for many is still but a dream, and mercy is but a hope seen from afar. With thankful hearts, let us joyfully share our gifts in gratitude to God.

BLESSING OF THE OFFERING    (Unison)

Ever-present God be present in these gifts, that others may know your loving presence. Make them be for the world signs of your presence, signs of your love, signs of Christ, and signs of Christmas love. In gratitude and Hope, we pray. Amen.

BENEDICTION    (1 Thessalonians 3)

May your love for one another abound, just as Christ’s love abounds for you. Go with God’s love in your hearts and with the Spirit’s fierce tenderness in your breast. Go with the God of Hope.

Depart in Peace,  Shalom.
