Baptism of the Lord
We Gather as the Body of Christ
ANNOUNCEMENTS AND FUNNY STORY
CALL TO WORSHIP
John the Baptist was preaching in the wilderness, calling people to repent and be baptized. And many were baptized by John. However, he was clear that he was NOT the one that they needed to pay attention to. He was the forerunner. His ministry prepared the way for Jesus.
We have many directions to look these days, many things call for our attention and some are good and faithful. But within them all, we are invited to Look Beyond what is there, to look and experience Jesus himself. As we worship the Lord together, let’s be attentive and aware of the presence of Jesus in our midst. Let us worship God together!

BLESSING OF THE OFFERING (unison)
O Lord, accept these gifts, given from the heart and from our desire to please you with the choices we make and the priorities we set in all areas of life, including our finances. May these tithes and offerings make a difference in our world, in the name of Jesus – feeding the hungry, providing clothing and shelter for those without, and working for justice for all people. Amen.
