CENTERING WORDS  (Psalm 127)

Pastor Bob

Care for us Holy One, and help us see the goodness of your caring presence in our lives. Help us welcome you into our homes. Help us release toil and anxiety and find peace.

CALL TO WORSHIP  (Mark 12)

Debbie Young - Liturgist

Who is Jesus? Jesus is the one who calls us to give everything to God. Out of our abundance and out of our poverty, we offer who we are and what we have to the living God. Let us worship together, with our hearts, with our minds and with our voices!

OPENING PRAYER  (Unison)

Debbie Young - Liturgist

Most holy God, We offer to you this day, and all that it has held so far. We offer to you this time, set aside for worshipping you and realigning our priorities. We offer to you ourselves, for we belong to you. Body and spirit. Mind and heart. We belong to you completely and forever. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

INVITATION TO OFFERING      Pastor Bob

Through our generosity, even if it is All we have, we give joyfully from our heart to serve God and the world in which God created. Give as you are called and as you are able.

BLESSING OF THE OFFERING

(Mark 12)  (Unison)

Creator God, all that we have is yours. Our time belongs to you. Our abilities belong to you. Our resources belong to you. We present these offerings and tithes to you, O Lord, in the name of Jesus. Through them, may your kingdom come and may your will be done, here on earth. Amen. Amen.

CALL TO CONFESSION  Pastor Bob

Let’s draw near to God together, in humility and in honest confession.

PRAYER of CONFESSION

(Mark 12)  (Unison)

Merciful and forgiving God, we join our hearts in prayer. Hear us as we confess to you. We teach your truth, but do not practice it. We allow burdens to fall on the shoulders of others, and we do not shoulder them ourselves. We seek the praise and glory that the world offers, instead of privately seeking your praise. And we hold back from giving our all to you. Forgive us, O God, for our lack of humility and generosity. Forgive us and make our hearts humble and receptive to your teaching. And hear us, O Lord, as we confess to you in silence…

ASSURANCE of PARDON (Hebrews 9: 26)

Through Jesus, our sin has been removed. God forgives us and cleanses us from unrighteousness. Believe the good news of the gospel…

In Unison: We are forgiven through Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God! Amen.

BENEDICTION (Mark 12)  Pastor Bob

May you follow Jesus’ example and serve others with a gracious generosity and merciful humility. May the wisdom of God guide you to the right opportunities to serve and give. And may the Holy Spirit fill you with peace. Amen.

Depart in Peace, Shalom.
